Nouman Nafees, PhD

Nouman founded First Principles SI on a belief: the limits of our models are not necessarily the limits of what is possible. Even our most successful theories and technologies are built upon assumptions. Understanding which of those assumptions are fundamental, and which can be challenged, may open possibilities that established approaches have yet to reveal.
Nouman holds a PhD in Computer Science from Cardiff University. His work brings together physical models, simulation, and machine learning to investigate the behavior and security of Critical National Infrastructure, including Smart Grids and Industrial Control Systems. He has served as Principal Investigator on publicly funded research and technology development initiatives, spanning scientific research, industrial applications, and the commercialization of cybersecurity technologies.
